Ombre

The word Ombré means “shadow” in French. In the world of hair coloring, ombré is a two-tone color that typically gets darker at the roots and lighter towards the ends. The hair often remains in its natural color at the roots and the lengths and ends are lightened.

This technique works with any color scheme. From natural blonde to brown or red, but also unconventional in pink, blue or green. This type of hair coloring is ideal for medium to long hair.

The big advantage of this technique is that you don't have to go to the hairdresser too often to freshen up the look, as the roots are not colored.

It is created using a slightly different method than the balayage technique, with a visibly more dramatic end result. With the ombré technique, the color transition from dark to light is usually quite short, with the color gradually fading towards the roots. The ombré colorway adopts a freehand application that is less subtle but just as eye-catching as the balayage look.
